Unexpected Effort

The heat pump has been delivered, but immediately presents another problem. It’s too high to be brought straight into the house on its pallet. And the otherwise helpful two delivery men say it will take 4 people to lift it. So it has stayed outside under cover until today when John, Pete and I struggled to manhandle it in.

It took an hour using rollers and a lot of effort. And if it had been an inch higher it would have been impossible without dismantling something.

So one more unexpected cost we hadn’t allowed for. And the plumber will still have to somehow get it into the boiler room once the oil boiler has been removed next week.
